We’re heading into the home stretch of design decisions for our Modern Farmhouse phase 3 – which includes a bonus room, kitchenette and bathroom addition above our garage! As with everything, trends and styles evolve and I’m finding with my design decisions this round, versus when we did our entire interior remodel 2.5 years ago, what I’m drawn to definitely FLOWS but has evolved.
So while I’m knee deep in the land of finish choices, I thought I’d share with you 3 major interior design trends that I’m seeing, and inspired by, that will hopefully help and inspire you if you are needing to make similar choices!
Interior Design Trend 1: Black Kitchens
Interior Design Trend 2: Vertical Shiplap
We all know that once Chip and Joanna hit the scene, the shiplap craze hasn’t let up. When we did our interior remodel two years ago, my one request was shiplap EVERYWHERE. While I still LOVE the texture and simplicity that white shiplap adds to a space, I’m starting to see vertical shiplap, or tongue and groove, popping up around interior spaces and I am HERE FOR IT.
Interior Design Trend 3: Natural Wood
Whether it’s your bathroom vanity, your shelf accessories, or the floors, natural wood tones are here to stay.
This one is natural wood and vertical shiplap – yes please!
Hopefully those help inspire you with your design choices this week!
