How to Wear High Waisted Denim
High-waisted jeans are in. But not all of us are quite up to speed on how we are supposed to be rocking this trend, and whether we should make space for it in our closets.
If you’ve had children, then, well, there’s no easy way to say it, there is a wrong way to mom jean.
This my friends, is the wrong way to Mom Jean.
Oh she is cute, she truly is. She just prob isn’t in our target demographic of our style model. High-waisted denim is not just meant for crop tops and elongating our (saggy) butts. Truly, this trend can be your friend.
Let me break this down for you.
The Right Way to Mom Jean
It’s all about the front tuck. We’ve borne children ladies, there’s nothing about my mid-section that needs to be showed off. Hide it with ease with a blousey front tuck.
I’m pretty convinced that high-waisted jeans, although you see them all over the “younger demographic” were actually in fact created for moms. With a baggy enough shirt, these jeans will do that tummy wonders.
Okay, that girl has been to the gym. But she’s still classy and looks effortless as she accentuates her legs instead of her waistline.
Plain t-shirt classed up with a front tuck on those high-waisted jeans. No need to be fancy here to still pull off a bit of style.
This girl just doesn’t even bother which I’m a fan of. Wear those high-waisted jeans as if they aren’t. Throw on a tunic or longer shirt and call it good.
The point is that high-waisted jeans for moms are meant to HIDE all of the things. The whole front tuck thing just classes it up a bit and makes you relevant with the Beliebers.
Get jeans that fit though. They’re supposed to be tight. Hug and embrace those curves and hips that you now have. Elongate your legs. Show off your shoulders or your arms. And for heaven’s sake, no crop tops.
PS these are my favorite high-waisted jeans. Forgiving in size and stretch.
