All of the red in our wardrobe has safely been packed away for another year (maybe making a quick resurgence in February, but not likely). I wanted to share the wardrobe staples that are making up my winter closet.
As you know, I firmly believe in the look good, feel good philosophy and believe that if you feel good about yourself, the trickle effect of how you show up for your people and the world around are extremely connected.
Without further ado, here are my top 5 winter staples.
Sweaters. Give me all the sweaters.
Specifically, I’m on a turtleneck kick. I can’t quite tell if I’m simply morphing into my mom, or if this is fully on trend, but I don’t even care. They are cozy, they are oversized, we are front tucking them and I am obsessed.
High Rise Leggings
This is a duh, and nothing new, but with the start of the new year, it always feels good to snag a new pair of high rise control top leggings. My favorite FOR SURE are the Spanx, but I also love the cell phone pocket of the Zellas. Either way, you’ll find me in these both at the gym and just in my everyday #momlife.
I snagged this pair at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this last summer and I literally wear them all the time. Waterproof and a wedge? What more do you need? They do feel a bit like a splurge item, but if you are a native PNW’er like me, they will get PLENTY of use. If not, save your pennies because they are worth it. And I mean it.
Everyone needs a little sass right now to kick those winter blues away. I get compliments every time I wear mine, and the bonus is that I also feel like a bad ass. Don’t mess with me when I’m wearing my leopard booties. 😉
Quilted Bomber Jackets
Super random I know, but my absolute fave right now is actually from Forever21. I hadn’t stepped foot in an actual Forever21 store in YEARS, but wandered in after Christmas to return a skirt, and was distracted by all of the cute quilted bomber jackets (that are still on sale!) It even made an appearance in our post-Christmas family pics.
I couldn’t find an exact link for mine, but I found these that are similar:
