Finding joy and contentment in our everyday lives is something that I believe every woman struggles with. We all are plagued with feelings of ‘not enough’, and if we allow it, ultimately these feelings will cripple and paralyze us into living the life that we don’t ultimately want to be living.
As moms, we have a job to impart our values and convictions upon our children, teaching them that they mean something, that their story matters. Their craft, their purpose, all of it has been uniquely designed for what they uniquely bring to the table. We believe this deep in our core.
Yet, if we’re honest, we as women don’t do our best at living this message out ourselves.
Your Story Matters
At the end of the day, it is a universal longing for our days to have meant something. This path is LONELY. I don’t think anyone is looking to get to the pearly gates having spent their days pining over someone else’s story. What a waste that would be!
Your story matters right here, right now, in your current right-now life. Stop looking to the left and right and comparing your story, your gifts, your family, to the women running a different race. You have been gifted right where you’re at.
And it’s not about what you can bring to the table. It’s never been about what you bring.
It’s simply about who you are.
You are significant.
You are accepted.
You are secure.
Your job, your role, your place in this story are all significant.
Be the woman you are encouraging your daughters to be.
Don’t lose sight of the fact that you are enough not because of what you do, but because of who you are. Sure, your story isn’t perfect. But nobody wants perfection. We are in the game of messy, authentic and real, and all we are asked to do is show up everyday and give our best.
It matters because it’s from you. And as long as you have breath to breathe, you have a role to play. We need you mama. Get in the game, stop standing on the side lines. This is it.
You are only walking this way one time.
Start where you’re at!
- Take a minute and think on THREE things that you are grateful for in your life TODAY. Try to make them as specific as possible.
- Write them down.
- Next, take those three things and think of one way that you can invest in one of those things today.
Did you write your family down? Try going for a walk today with your kids.
